Challenge #6: Fasteners

This week's challenge is a fun one! We are talking buttons, eyelets, brads, grommets...

USE YOUR FASTENERS!
You can do it!

Please link your creation using Mr. Linky by Friday May 6th. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE006 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Here is a little inspiration to get you started:

Siobhan used her hoarded stash of buttons! Using 10 buttons caused a slight case of heart palpitations, but she quickly recovered when she realized it hardly made a dent in her stash. :)

Sonya, our featured guest designer and winner of our last challenge, used her hoarded buttons to embellish this fabulous Hershey Nugget tin! Some lucky teachers at her son's school will be receiving this during Teacher Appreciation week!

And finally, Sami used one of her beloved Corduroy Buttons. She may have about a million of these puppies in her collection.

We can't wait to see what you create! Now go Use It!!

CONGRATULATIONS SONYA!

Sonya made this beautiful spring creation:

As always our winner will be asked to join us as a Guest Designer in an upcoming challenge! She also gets to put this awesome button on her blog!

The next Use it Tuesday Challenge will go live on the 26th!
Are you ready to Use It??

Challenge #5 : Ribbon

This week's challenge is going to be really hard for some of us because it involves something many of us hoard really well!!

We challenge you to USE YOUR RIBBON! (Twine, or really anything you can tie is perfectly acceptable, too!) I know it is hard, but it is such a gorgeous touch to any project. You can do it!

Please link your creation using Mr. Linky by Friday April 22nd. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE005 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation.

Here is a page Samantha made with some of her satin ribbon. She also used some alphas she has been hoarding (Thickers from American Crafts and Tiny Type from Cosmo Cricket).

Siobhan made a card she designed all around the ribbon she had been hoarding for 4 years! (Michaels $1 ribbon bin find...you know you have some, too!)

Diane, one of our Guest Designers, is using her hoarded retired Stampin' UP Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon! I **think** just maybe some other people might have some of this yummy ribbon in their stash as well. (Not naming names Siobhan and Sami)

Our winner from the Help for Japan challenge. Lisa. created this masterpiece. Guess how long she has had this ribbon? 5 years!!! She got it in a ribbon swap. Oh yes, we are helping hoarders one project at a time!

And last but certainly not least, this fabulous corset card is from the very talented and creative Judy, who was the winner of our sketch challenge! Seriously, that corset is to die for!! And was a genius idea to use those eyelets you have laying around as well!

We can't wait to see what you create! Now go Use It!!

Challenge #4 Winner!

Thanks so much for playing along in our Hope for Japan challenge! We are thrilled with the response we had. Each one of you made a difference!

We had so many talented scrapbookers from Japan play along! If you have a chance, I would encourage you to click on their links and send them some words of encouragement. Many of them scrapbooked about the earthquake and tsunami and felt it was very therapeutic and healing. We feel honored to have had them play along! (As a side, we tried to leave comments for all our contributors, unfortunately, some of the Japanese blogs would not let us. Please know we looked at and appreciated all of the projects!!)

Now, for the good news:

Due to all of your hard work and effort, we are pleased to announce our donation of $100 to the Japanese Red Cross on behalf of all of you!

And we don't want to forget about our lucky winner chosen randomly from the list of participants:

True Random Number Generator 1 66

CONGRATULATIONS LISA!

Lisa made this gorgeous creation, which is inspired by the Japanese flag:

We will be in contact so we can arrange your guest designer spot for an upcoming challenge! And, you also get to put this awesome button on your blog! (You can grab it from the sidebar.)

The next Use it Tuesday Challenge will go live on the 12th!
Are you ready to Use It??

Challenge #4

Our challenge this week is related to recent world events:

Please make a project using the color RED in honor of Japan. Remember to use something from your stash you have been hoarding and please tell us in your post or project description what that item (or items) is!

As an added twist...we are going to make a donation to the Red Cross based on the number of participants we have! If we get 1-25 players, we will donate $50; 26-50 players we will donate $75 and so on up to $400! So feel free to get the word out! We would love to make a great donation on behalf of our fellow crafters. :)

Please link your creation using Mr. Linky by Friday April 1st. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE004 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

One lucky participant will be chosen randomly to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Here is a little inspiration to get you started:

Siobhan updated a card she made previously for a Stamping Bella challenge, this time using more of her coveted Japanese Washi Paper and paper piecing the kimono.

Samantha used some of her hoarded Thickers! She has tons of these babies! And this gorgeous patterned paper is double sided so it is double the fun (she used both sides, both layouts are shown here!)

We can't wait to see what you create! Now go Use It!!
